1928 - Birthday of Georgy Dobrovolsky, Soviet astronaut who flew on Soyuz 11 which, after what appeared like a normal landing, the crew was found dead. The cause was a valve that had opened and vented the spacecraft's atmosphere into space. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the Order of Lenin and the title of Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR.
