2003 - Eris, the largest dwarf planet, so far, in the Kupier Belt is discovered by Mike Brown (Caltech), Chad Trujillo (Gemini Observatory), and David Rabinowitz (Yale University). The revised paper is published in the December 10th 2005 issue of the Astrophysical Journal Letters.

1950 - Birthday, Ronald McNair - American Astronaut who flew on STS 41-B, He died as a crew member during the launch of Challenger, January 28, 1986, STS 51-L.
